BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is the primary regional transportation in the Bay Area. Its extensive train network connects San Francisco with Peninsula and East Bay cities and both area airports—SFO and OAK.

The Dylan is a 3 minute walk to the Millbrae BART station.  All trains departing Millbrae go directly to all the San Francisco BART stations, including: Mission, Civic Center, Powell and Embarcadero.

SFO Area:

SFO Station: BART is the hassle-free and traffic-free way to access the San Francisco International Airport. Take the SFO/Millbrae-bound train for a 30-minute journey from the city.

Millbrae Station: This last stop on the BART system's southwestern arm is a great connection point to the communities of the peninsula. Riders can transfer to the Caltrain system to travel south Burlingame or south into Silicon Valley.  

Downtown Francisco:

Embarcadero Station: Fisherman's Wharf, Embarcadero, Pier 39, Ferry Building, The Exploratorium, Cruises to Alcatraz,  and Steuart St.

Montgomery St. Station: Chinatown, North Beach, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Maiden Lane, Cartoon Art Museum, Yerba Buena Gardens, and Museum of the African Diaspora.

West Dublin/Pleasanton and Dublin/Pleasanton Stations: The Dublin/Pleasanton Line takes you deeper into the East Bay, Tri-Valley region offers golden hills, wineries and small-town charm.

CalTrain - caltrain.com or Google Maps

CalTrain provides regular train service between San Francisco, the Peninsula, and the Silicon Valley. CalTrain operates local, limited-stop, and Baby Bullet trains. Baby Bullet and limited-stop trains operate during weekday periods only, while local trains operate all day every day. CalTrain connects with BART at the Millbrae Station. The San Francisco stop is located at 4th & King, close to Oracle Park (Home of the San Francisco Giants Baseball team.).

Zone 1: San Francisco. 22nd Street, Bayshore, South San Francisco, and San Bruno

Zone 2: Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, Hayward Park, Hillsdale, Belmont, San Carlos, and Redwood City

Zone 3: Menlo Park, Palo Alto, California Avenue, San Antonio, Mountain View, and Sunnyvale

Zone 4: Lawrence, Santa Clara, College Park, San Jose Diridon, and Tamien

Zone 5: Capitol and Blossom Hill

Fares:

CalTrain fares are based on the number of zones that are traveled through by the passenger. Full fares will apply to all customers 19 years of age or older except those who qualify for an Eligible Discount ticket, which is approximately 50 percent of the full-fare price. 

Ticket Type definitions:

  • One-way: Valid 4 hours from time of purchase.
  • Day Pass: Valid the date of purchase, unlimited travel within zones indicated.
  • Zone Upgrade: Valid 4 hours from time of purchase, one way when accompanying another valid ticket (not valid with 8-ride Ticket).
  • 8-ride: Valid 30 days from date of purchase.
  • Monthly Pass: Valid month of purchase.

Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants - Oracle Park is easily accessible via Caltrain.  The Millbrae CalTrain station is a 2 minute walk from The Dylan Hotel.  Exit the back of the hotel, turn left onto California Drive and walk under the overpass to the CalTrain stop.
